A Morning Cooking Mission Begins

Some people wake up and think about coffee. Others wake up and apparently think, “Today feels like a good day to make crispy crabs.” This lady is clearly in the second group.

Dressed in a long-sleeved white shirt and light-wash denim jeans decorated with cute pink ribbon accents on the back pockets, she ties a black apron around her waist and gets ready for a serious kitchen mission. Her long, wavy dark hair is finished with a patterned bow hair clip, adding a playful touch to her cooking outfit.

She begins by opening the sheer curtains of her high-rise apartment, letting the daylight pour into the room. After enjoying the bright view for a moment, she heads straight toward the kitchen.

The contemporary kitchen is spotless, featuring stainless steel countertops, white cabinetry, a black gas cooktop, and a neat sink area. It looks almost too clean for what is about to happen.

Preparing the Crabs for the Wok

She prepares small crabs, carefully cutting them into portions and rinsing them in a colander. Next comes the crispy coating. She dips the cut sides into egg yolk followed by starch, making sure they are ready for their hot-oil debut.

The coated crab pieces go into a hot wok and are seared until the coating becomes wonderfully crisp and golden. The kitchen suddenly smells like something delicious is happening, and the previously spotless wok is officially having a much more exciting day.

Once the crabs are beautifully browned, she removes them and gets to work on the flavor base. Garlic, sliced red chilies, and spices hit the wok, creating an aromatic mixture that would probably convince even a sleepy neighbor to investigate.

Adding Flavor and a Splash of Beer

The crispy crabs return to the wok, followed by dark soy sauce, light soy sauce, and salt. She tosses everything together until the pieces are coated with the rich seasoning.

Then comes the unexpected ingredient: beer.

She pours beer into the wok, covers everything with a lid, and lets the crabs simmer so the flavors can mingle. Near the end, chopped green chilies join the party for another fresh kick.

The Crispy Crabs Take Center Stage

Finally, she removes the lid and plates the finished dish onto a white platter. The crispy, golden crabs look absolutely ready for their close-up.

From opening curtains to commanding a sizzling wok, this wasn’t just breakfast or lunch. It was a full culinary performance, and the crabs definitely got the starring role.
